We were welcomed this morning to a gorgeous sunrise at Hunters Ridge. The golf course was in great shape and the people there took great care of us. It was a wonderful day of golf (except for the mosquitoes)

The weather was like my golf game today - inconsistent!

It was beautiful when we tee’ed off and then looked like it was going to get horrible. The bad stuff fizzled and we ended up with a great day to play golf.

It was nice to see all the parents out with their sons and daughters. Thanks for finding a bit of time this weekend to play some golf with us. We had a lot of fun.

Junior Tour Update

Dear Livingston Junior Tour Members,

Welcome to the third full season of "The Tour". This season promises to be bigger and better as we continue to grow our program and "tour" the best golf courses that the area has to offer. We have attached a few reminders as we draw near our first Tour Event at Faulkwood Shores next Wednesday, June 18.

Check out the new updated website often for tee times, Tour Championship points updates, results and pictures of each event. Also tune into the Blog for information about various golf related items of interest.

- Tee Times are now available for Event #1 at Faulkwood Shores and will be ready tomorrow for Event #2 - Parent/Child at Timber Trace.

- Please plan to be ready to go at least 15 minutes prior to your tee time. If you would like to warm up or need to get ready to play, please plan on arriving even earlier. With our Tour growing each day, it is imperative that we adhere closely to the designated starting time for each group.

- You can significantly help the overall tournament experience, and preserve our welcome at local golf facilities by paying special attention to your pace of play. A few rules of thumb to be conscientious of:

     - Keep your eye on the ball at all times, even after a poor shot
     - Maximum one practice swing per shot, more than one does not help and tires you out quicker
     - Help others in your group watch their ball
     - Be ready to play when it is your turn
     - Mark your ball on the putting green, but tap in short putts if you are comfortable doing so
     - Keep up with the group in front of you, don't be concerned with the group behind you
    = THANK YOU!

- Please double check to see if you have your waiver and registration form/fees all taken care of. If you should need to complete any of these items please plan to arrive a few minutes early and take care of this prior to starting your first event.

- It is a good idea to pack a bottle or two of water, and perhaps a snack for each day. While most area courses have water coolers on the course, it is better to be safe rather than sorry with this one.

- In the event of inclement weather, please call the host facility. We will be in contact with them, and should the need arise to suspend or cancel play, they will be the first to have this information.

- We have hats for all the golfers this year....we should have them ready for our first event. You can check out the website to see what they look like.

- Spartan Toyota is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Livingston Junior Tour this summer. We also are lucky to have Dick's Sporting Goods as a supporting sponsor. We will be providing some nice opportunities for our members for both of our sponsors. We have some great deals we can share with you if you are looking for a new car and we have some great prizes/giveaways from Dick's Sporting Goods. We are lucky to have such great sponsors. It will be a great summer with these partnerships.

Registrations are Still Being Accepted!

Things are getting close....we are two weeks away and registrations are rolling in. Please feel free to sign up if you haven't already. We will take registrations all summer.

Tee times will be posted on June 15th for our first event on June 18th. You can expect about a two day notice on all tee times. You can safely plan on a 7 - 8:30 am tee time for 18 holers and a 7:30 - 9:00 tee time for 9 holers.

Couple of exciting things to share with you all:

Sponsors: We are excited to have two amazing sponsors on board this summer. Spartan Toyota will be our Presenting Sponsor and Dick’s Sporting Goods will be a Benefactor Sponsor. We are very luck to have such great people to work with this summer. These partnerships will provide us with some nice opportunities to share with all our members. More information to come.

Hats: New hats this summer...we decided to go with White. Hope you like them.

Welcome to the Junior Tour 2008

We have our schedule down and we are ready to roll with this summer's Tour. Check out the schedule and register early to guarantee your spot in each event. We have made a few changes for this summer.

We have added the ability to register with a credit card through paypal.
We raised our registration fee by $10 to help us cover the expenses that will result by the addition of the credit card processing.
We are in talks with a new sponsor for this summer. We really think this could be an exciting partnership for our members. We hope to have more to share with you very soon.
We will not be offering a 5 hole division.

And there are a few things that will not change

The fees for our events will remain the same - $30 for 18 holes and $20 for 9 holes.
Nathan and Ethan will be back as the Tour Directors.
Our events will maintain the Monday and Wednesday morning 7 am schedule.
Our Tour Championship will still be available for the top 16 golfers in each division.
The Junior Invitational will be back again this summer at Mystic Creek.
We will have tons of fun and we will see lots of great golf!

Most of the things are good to go but there will be lots of "tweaking" throughout the next month or two as we polish things up for this summer's events. Check back often for updates to the blog and for recent news for the upcoming season.
