About Us:
Nathan Oake
Nathan comes to the Junior Tour after four
years as the Head PGA Professional and Director of
Instruction at Leslie Park Golf Course in Ann Arbor. Nathan
has also worked as an Assistant Professional at Barton
Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor and has junior golf
instruction experience at Oakland Hills Country Club in
Bloomfield Hills. He is a graduate of Ferris State
University's Professional Golf Management Program. Nathan
has focused his golf career on junior golf instruction and
has also been a successful high school golf coach and
private instructor for several Division I collegiate
players. He has experience with all ages and ability
levels, and is eager to help you improve your golf game or
learn to play the game.
Nathan also teaches marketing at Hartland High School and
will begin this Fall as the Varsity Golf Coach at Hartland
High School.
Ethan Hawker
Ethan is only in his 10th year teaching math
at Hartland High School but has spent his lifetime in
Livingston County. As a Hartland graduate, Ethan earned All
State honors as a golfer and went on to U of M to earn his
teaching degree before coming back to his alma matter. In
his 2nd year teaching, he created the JV golf team at
Hartland High. Soon after, Ethan took over the Varsity
position, which he maintained until last Fall (2005) when
he decided to pass the reigns to Nathan. With a wife, a 3
year old son, and a new one due in May (2006) it was
important for Ethan to find other ways to help junior
golfers improve at this wonderful game.
The Livingston Junior Golf Tour is Nathan's and Ethan's
attempt to raise the level of junior golf here in
Livingston County even higher. Through organized
competition on top notch courses, junior golfers will only
get better and our HS programs will continue to maintain
their excellence.
